kitchen storage tips

the kitchen gets messy pretty easily if it’s not used practically. when organizing your kitchen, follow: classification, flow and convenience. one of the basics of organizing and storage is to categorize similar things together. it’s important to not let unused kitchen items accumulate. i really try to buy things i actually need and use.

– the cabinet under the sink, we have a shelf organizer that we store kitchen cleaning supplies that are used often like dish soap, vinegar, baking soda, extra sponges, microfiber clothes. you can cover any messy parts with a tension rod and a nice cloth (make a diy curtain).

to the left of our stovetop, in the upper cabinet we store plates, bowls that are frequently used. if you need to separate the storage, you can add a shelf.

– on the left side of our stovetop, in the lower cabinet, we store small appliances like our blender, popcorn maker.

to the right of our stovetop, in the upper cabinet, we store our baking ingredients in their containers, pastas and small snacks.

on the right side of our stovetop, in the lower cabinet, we store our pots and pans.

– pot lid holder/magazine file box organize the lids of pans or frying pans. for deep frying pans you can use a magazine file box.

– right above the dishwasher, in the upper cabinet is where we store all of our mugs and cups.

– in a kitchen drawer, use an expandable drawer organizer to store your silverware.

– a pull out trash and recycle bin underneath the cabinet, these save space in the kitchen and there’s no trash can sitting out in your kitchen.

extra tips:

– put only the things you use often and need on the countertops.

– use a cable holder on the back of appliances to store away neatly.

-put stuff that hasn’t been used for months away.  organize by emptying things out.

– wooden spoons are stored in the upper drawers/

– trays and cutting boards are also placed flat  in upper drawers

– seasonings i place flat in a upper drawer near stove

– cutting the tops off the bags of chips also helps to keep everything clean then add bag clip.

– turntables are perfect for storing seasonings or oils. you can also use a basket with a handle to easily pull out any commonly used oils.
