"a healthy outside starts from the inside"
there’s so much to say on how to eat healthier, so here’s part 2. the first question to ask yourself is can i sustain this long term? it’s so easy to get into the black-and-white thinking when it comes to healthy eating, but flexibility and balance is so much more rewarding. these are tips that i do in my own life that make living a healthy lifestyle a little bit easier and enjoyable.
i hope these tips will be helpful in your life:
choose mostly whole and natural foods, even if it falls into the animal product category. think about all of the healthy foods you do like and crowd them in. you still want to enjoy the food you’re putting in your body.
include greens with every meal. this could be for either breakfast (green smoothie- you can really experiment depending on what you have in the fridge) or dinner (broccoli, spinach on the side of your main course). you can start this with 50% of your meals and eventually your body will start to crave more greens. you can’t go wrong eating green.
find food substitutes for things you crave. you can try to get healthier versions of your favorite snacks to have in between meals. e.g., you could pick up a bag of siete tortilla chips or hu dark chocolate. subbing will help satisfy you when you’re craving something sweet or savory.
allow yourself delicious treats and desserts occasionally, so you’re not like ‘omg, i want that but i can’t have that,’ which results in restricting yourself. this also helps so you’re not overindulging.
great tips!! i agree, it’s so important to keep a balanced diet!
I LOVE hu dark chocolate! Such a great substitute when you want something sweet 🙂
