it’s always a beautiful beginning to September because fall festivities are just around the corner. i don’t know about you but apple picking is one of my favorite fall activities – especially if a pie or apple crisp is involved afterwards. i’m sharing the best orchards that i’ve been to in Massachusetts over the years with my family. there is a Rhode Island one coming too! i recommend visiting one or all of these farms.

honey pot hill orchards – address: 138 sudbury road, stow, massachusetts | hours: 9am-6pm mon-sunday | cost: peck bag (10lb) ~ $22/ 1/2 bushel bag (20lb) ~$33 activities: hayrides, mazes, farm animals
they easily have the best fried apple cider donuts and freshly pressed cider. the donuts are freshly made and melt in your mouth. the best fall treat. they also have the cutest three little pigs that each have a home- you know how the story goes.
tougas family farm – address: 234 ball street, northborough, massachusetts | hours: 9am-4pm | cost: peck ~10 pounds $34 (admits 3 people) / 1/2 bushel box ~ 20 pounds $47 (admits 5 people)
they have a mini farm where you can pet the animals and a playground for kids. the place smells amazing with all of the baked goods. it’s perfect for a family outing.
clarkdale fruit farms – address: 303 upper road, deerfield, massachusetts | hours: pick your own apples 10am-4pm, monday-sunday and cider donuts thursday – sunday
this is such a charming farm in a beautiful area. the apples are simply delicious and farm fresh. there’s so many to choose from. oh, and home-pressed cider.
